– Student does on own
– The initial request does not count as a prompt
VS - Visual/Modelling
– Pictures or symbols to assist student
– Performing action to assist student
PV - Partial Verbal
– Verbal that is part of the sound required, such as the initial letter
FV - Full Verbal
– Verbal that is the whole sound required
IV – Indirect Verbal
– Verbal that is indirect, such as “What do you say?”
PO - Positional/Within Stimulusr
– Prompt is in placement of stimulus
– Prompt is in size or other aspect of stimulus
G - Gestural
– Gestures towards stimulus
PP - Partial Physical
– Physical or touch prompting that leads the student
FP - Full Physical
– Physical or touch prompting that follows through the entire activity
X - Did not Do
– When full physical prompts will not work, such as for verbals or complicated
gross motor skills
